Qore 0.7.0 has been released. Qore is a weakly-typed, multithreaded scripting language offering procedural and object-oriented capabilities, and SQL integration.

This release includes: a stable and documented API with public C++ header files, performance and memory usage improvements, support for runtime closures, bug fixes, and other changes.

Hop 1.9.2 has been released. Hop is a higher-order language designed for developing Web applications.

This release includes: improved browser performance by using an enhanced implementation of keep-alive HTTP connections, and bug fixes.

Glasgow Haskell Compiler 6.10.1 RC 1 has been released. GHC is a portable, open-source, optimising Haskell 98 implementation.

The October 15, 2008 edition of Tcl-URL! is now available. It summarises recent developments and discussion within the Tcl community.

Scala 2.7.2 RC3 has been released. Scala is a statically typed, extensible, multi-paradigm language, offering object-oriented and functional support.

This release candidate includes bug fixes.

Mumps Compiler 11.4 has been released. It is a multi-platform compiler for a subset of the Mumps language.

This release includes bug fixes.

Ivy 1.0 has been released. Ivy is an extended dialect of C, offering improved type, memory management, and concurrency safety.

This is the initial release, combining Deputy and HeapSafe, and adding SharC.

Logtalk 2.33.1 has been released. Logtalk is an object-oriented extension to Prolog.

This release includes: a syntax construct for easily accessing parametric object proxies, improvements to the built-in debugger, updated config files for various Forth implementations, a library for descriptive statistics, new predicates, new and updated examples, bug fixes, performance improvements, and other changes.

Gauche 0.8.14 has been released. Gauche is an R5RS Scheme implementation.

Objective Caml 3.11.0+beta1 has been released. Objective Caml is a statically typed, strictly evaluated descendant of ML, offering object-oriented, functional and imperative features.

Frink 2008-10-09 has been released. Frink is a language which allows for units of measurement to be tracked throughout calculations to help ensure correct answers.

This release includes support for drawing graphics.

It has been announced that the next FringeDC formal meeting will be held on October 11, 2008. FringeDC is a group for people in the Washington, D.C. area who are interested in non-mainstream programming languages, including Lisp, Scheme, Haskell, Prolog and Smalltalk.

PLT Scheme v4.1.1 has been released. PLT Scheme is a family of Scheme implementations, including DrScheme and MzScheme.

Open64 4.2 has been released. Open64 is an open source compiler suite including compilers for C, C++, and Fortran.

This release includes: the enabling of the GCC 4.2.0-based front-end, improved Fortran 2003 support, reduced IPA memory usage, optimization improvements, support for new targets, bug fixes, and other changes.

Blue 1.6.8 has been released. Blue is a portable, high-level, dynamic programming language.

This release includes: initial work on a new LEMON-based parser, a shell stream for communicating with the command interpreter, and documentation updates.
