Seed7 2008-10-05 has been released. Seed7 is a strongly-typed, general-purpose language, offering object-oriented capabilities, exception handling, user-defined statements and operators, plus more.

This release includes: documentation improvements, updated example programs, the renaming of the bigULConv and bigLOrd functions to bigFromUInt64 and bigToInt64, updated makefiles, improved compiler support for local interface declarations and dynamic functions referring to constant values, and other changes.

Hop 1.9.1 has been released. Hop is a higher-order language designed for developing Web applications.

This release includes the HzBuilder weblet, plus bug fixes.

Ruby 1.9.0-5 has been released. Ruby is a dynamic, cross-platform, object-oriented language.

NASM 2.05rc1 has been released. NASM is a portable x86-32 and x86-64 assembler, supporting a variety of platforms and object file formats.

This release includes: '-w-user' for suppressing the output of '%warning' directives, fixes, and other changes.

VFX Forth for Windows v4.21 has been released. VFX Forth for Windows is an ANS Forth implementation, including a optimizing code generator and other development tools.

This release includes COM and ActiveX support.

It has been announced that the proceedings and photographs from EuroForth 2008 are now available online. "EuroForth is an annual conference on the Forth programming language, stack machines, and related topics, and has been held since 1985."

Stackless Python for Python 2.6 has been released. Stackless Python is a Python interpreter that minimizes the use of the C stack, also offering support for microthreads.

It has been announced that the next Michigan Python Users Group meeting will be held on October 2, 2008.
