The 2008 Workshop on Scheme and Functional Programming has put out a call for registration. "The purpose of the workshop is to report experience with the programming languages known as Scheme, to discuss ideas for the future of Scheme, and to present research related to Scheme and functional programming."

The workshop will be held on September 20, 2008, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

A call for nominations has been put out for the 2008 ACM SIGAda Awards. The awards "recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the Ada community and to SIGAda."

The nomination deadline is September 21, 2008. The awards will be presented on October 30, 2008 at the ACM SIGAda 2008 International Conference, in Portland, Oregon.
