April 06, 2008 April 04, 2008 April 03, 2008 Zsh 4.3.6 has been released. Zsh is a UNIX shell and scripting language, drawing from bash, ksh, and tcsh, in addition to adding original features. This release includes: extension of the parameter subscripting flag 'e'; a -q option for the cd, chdir, pushd and popd builtins, bug fixes, and other changes. eTcl 1.0-rc27 has been released. eTcl is a standalone, single-executable distribution of Tcl, supporting a number of platforms and including several popular extensions. This release includes: the use of Tcl/Tk 8.5.2, VFS optimizations, support for accurate image sub-sampling in Pixane, new commands added to the wce package, and other changes. Mono 1.9 has been released. Mono is a portable, open source .NET CLI implementation. This release includes: support for generics code sharing, AOT support for ARM processors, LINQ library support updated to the .NET 3.5 API, C# 3.0 as the default mode of operation for the C# compiler, ASP.NET improvements, support for building and using the DLR with Mono, bug fixes, and other changes. Tiny C Compiler 0.9.24 has been released. TCC is a small C compiler system for x86 systems. This release includes: the addition of verbosity levels, support for compilation from stdin, improved warnings, fastcall support, support for anonymous unions and structs, bug fixes, and other changes. LLVM Developer Meeting #2 has been announced. LLVM is a portable compiler infrastructure, offering a compilation strategy that allows for compile-time, link-time, run-time and offline program optimization. The meeting will be held on August 1, 2008, at the Apple Campus in Cupertino, California. April 02, 2008 The 24rd International Conference on Logic Programming has put out a call for workshop proposals. The proposal submission deadline is June 2, 2008. The workshop will be held from December 9 to 13, 2008, in Udine, Italy. The Commercial Users of Functional Programming Workshop 2008 has put out a call for papers. It aims to "build a community for users of functional programming languages and technology, be they using functional languages in their professional lives, in an open source project (other than implementation of functional languages), as a hobby, or any combination thereof." Presentation proposals are due June 2, 2008. The workshop will be held on September 26, 2008, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Lone Star Rubyconf 2008 has put out a call for papers. The conference will be held from September 4 to 6, 2008, in Austin, Texas. abc 1.3.0 has been released. abc is an AspectJ implementation that "aims to make it easy to implement both extensions and optimisations of the core language." This release includes: a new frontend, the porting of the EAJ and tracematches extensions to make use of the new frontend, performance improvements, bug fixes, and other changes. April 01, 2008 Fortress 1.0 has been released. Fortress is "a general-purpose, statically typed, component-based programming language designed for producing robust high-performance software," developed by the Programming Language Research group at Sun Microsystems Laboratories.
