Vala 0.1.7 has been released. Vala "aims to bring modern programming language features to GNOME developers without imposing any additional runtime requirements and without using a different ABI compared to applications and libraries written in C." It offers features such as: interfaces, properties, lambda expressions, local variable type inference, and more.

This release includes: support for private property accessors, support for property default values, improved delegate support, improved exception support, improved warning and error reporting, support for generic types, improved pointer support, new and updated library bindings, Windows fixes, bug fixes, and other changes.

Frink 2008-03-01 has been released. Frink is a language which allows for units of measurement to be tracked throughout calculations to help ensure correct answers.

This release includes support for representing fractional exponents of base dimensions.

Kite 1.0a3 has been released. Kite is a small, object-oriented language.

This release includes bug fixes.

Linotte 0.4.0 has been released. It is a programming language with a syntax inspired by French.

The Erlang eXchange Conference has been announced. It will be held on June 26 and 27, 2008, in London, UK.

tinypy 1.0 has been released. It is a small implementation of a subset of Python.

Ch 6.0 and Embedded Ch 6.0 have been released. Ch is a portable C and C++ interpreter, while Embedded Ch allows for the Ch interpreter to be embedded within other applications.

This release includes: the addition of debugging features in Ch Professional Edition and Embedded Ch, a new Ch IDE in Ch Professional Edition, new plotting features, and other changes.

PyCon Italia Due has put out a call for papers. The conference will be held from May 9 to 11, 2008, in Florence, Italy.
