Parrot 0.5.1 has been released. Parrot is a virtual machine designed to efficiently execute dynamic languages.
This release includes: documentation updates; a redesign of the Parrot Compiler Toolkit; NQP updates; the reimplementation of the perl6, abc, punie and pynie language implementations using PCT and NQP; new 'die', 'addhandler' and 'copy' opcodes; bug fixes; dead code removal; and other changes.
Scala 2.6.1-final has been released. Scala is a statically typed, extensible, multi-paradigm language, offering object-oriented and functional support.
This release includes a number of bug fixes.
Perl 5.10.0 has been released. Perl is a cross-platform, high-level, general-purpose programming language.
This release includes: the new smart match operator, capturing matches based on names, a switch statement, state variables, a defined-or operator, improved error messages, a smaller and faster interpreter, UTF-8 improvements, threading improvements, and other changes.
Gambas 2.0 RC2 has been released. Gambas is a development environment and BASIC-like language implementation with object-oriented extensions.
This release includes: improvements to the development environment, support for displaying rich text in GridView cells, and Observer class support for catching events after they have been processed.
Zsh 4.2.7 has been released. Zsh is a UNIX shell and scripting language, drawing from bash, ksh, and tcsh, in addition to adding original features.
This release includes: completion function enhancements, and bug fixes.

Gambit-C 4.1.2 has been released. Gambit-C includes a Scheme interpreter, and a Scheme compiler that emits portable C code.
This release includes: escape code decoding for GNOME terminal, a library path fix, the renaming of the Gambit initialization file to .gambcini, bug fixes and other changes.
newLISP 9.2.10 has been released. newLISP is a portable, general purpose, Lisp-like scripting language.
This release includes: new functions to modify nested lists by reference via a key, and a fix to the Win32 'directory?' function.

4tH 3.5b Release 2 has been released. 4tH is a portable, open source Forth implementation.
This release includes: new and updated words, an interface to the Festival speech synthesizer, bug fixes, and other changes.
GNU Smalltalk 2.95h has been released. GNU Smalltalk is a portable, open source Smalltalk-80 implementation.
This release includes a fix for a garbage collection bug.

The Belgian Ruby User Group has announced the Ruby and Rails Devroom at FOSDEM 2008. A call for papers has also been put out.
Abstracts are to be submitted before January 7, 2008. The devroom will be held on February 23 and 24, 2008, in Brussels, Belgium.
Gambit-C v4.1.1 has been released. Gambit-C includes a Scheme interpreter, and a Scheme compiler that emits portable C code.
This release includes: improved Mac OS X installers, the availability of some of the REPL's debugging functionality as procedures, new REPL commands for inspecting the environment of closures and starting a REPL in the environment of a closure or continuation, plus other changes.
STklos 0.97 has been released. STklos is an embeddable R5RS Scheme implementation.

JRuby 1.0.3 has been released. JRuby is a Ruby interpreter written in Java.

Factor 0.91 has been released. Factor is portable, dynamically typed stack-based language, drawing from Forth, Common Lisp, Joy and Slate.
This release includes: a non-optimizing, JIT compiler that replaces the interpreter; an improved hash code algorithm for sequences; 'infer' word and optimizing compiler support for code which uses continuations; profiler improvements; more robust Windows CE native I/O; new and updated libraries; performance enhancements; and other changes.
