Mono Summit 2007 has been announced. "The Mono Summit is a place to come discuss using Mono to create new applications for Linux, Windows, MacOS or embedded devices or learn how to port your existing applications from Windows to Linux, learn what Mono and Linux have to offer for .NET developers."

It will be held from November 26 to 30, 2007, in Madrid, Spain.

Mono 1.2.5 has been released. Mono is a portable, open source .NET CLI implementation.

This release includes: DLR-related fixes; support for C# 3.0 features such as variable type inference, anonymous types, array type inference, object initialization, collection initialization, and automatic properties; improvements to the invocation speed of non-multicast delegate methods; SSE2-optimized double to int conversions on x86; the addition of an IL verifier; bug fixes; and other changes.

This release includes: a new IO portability layer, security-related improvements, MonoDoc support for generics, Alpha port improvements, initial support for the new floating point operations ABI on the Nokia 770, performance optimizations, the unification of the mcs and gmcs code bases, a redesign of the anonymous method and iterator infrastructure, plus other changes and bugfixes.
