GNU Smalltalk 2.2d has been released. It is a portable, open source Smalltalk-80 implementation.
This release includes: licensing changes, the creation of RegexResult objects in C code rather than in Smalltalk, packaging fixes, Brad Watson's ncurses bindings, plus other changes and fixes.

Smalltalk Solutions 2007 has put out a call for papers.
The submission deadline is December 15, 2006. The conference will be held from April 30 to May 2, 2007, in Toronto, Canada.

GNU Smalltalk 2.2c has been released. It is a portable, open source Smalltalk-80 implementation.
This release includes: greater accuracy for several floating point operations, headers that can be compiled with a C++ compiler, and bug fixes.
Exupery 0.10 has been released. Exupery compiles Squeak bytecode to machine code.

It has been announced that Sun Microsystems has released the source code to the Strongtalk virtual machine under a Berkeley-style license. Strongtalk is a Smalltalk implementation with an emphasis on performance, and also including a strong, static type system.
