ooRexx 3.2.0 has been released. ooRexx is a portable, open-source REXX implementation based on IBM Object REXX.
This release includes: improved performance of the DROP instruction, 'method' and 'methods' methods for the Object class, documentation updates, build fixes, a number of new language constructs, bug fixes, and other changes.

ooRexx 3.1.2 has been released. ooRexx is a portable, open-source REXX implementation based on IBM Object REXX.
This release includes: support for Windows Vista, the addition of new methods to the MutableBuffer and String classes, the addition of the instanceOf method to class Object, OLE-related improvements, documentation improvements, and other changes.

It has been announced that the schedule is available for the 2007 International Rexx Symposium. It is "the premier technical conference where Rexx users and developers gather to exchange ideas and information and plan for the future of the language."
The conference will be held from April 30 to May 3, 2007, in Tampa, Florida, USA.

The 2007 International Rexx Symposium has been announced, and has put out a call for papers. "This four-day technical conference will address topics related to the Rexx family of programming languages: Classic Rexx, NetRexx, and Open Object Rexx." "The technical program will feature topics addressing Rexx solutions to business problems, application development challenges, Rexx language enhancements and extensions, novel Rexx programming ideas, and the design and implementation of Rexx interpreters and compilers."
Presentation and formal paper proposals are due by February 23, 2007. The symposium itself will be held from April 30 to May 3, 2007, in Tampa, Florida.

The August/September 2005 ooRexx Status Report is now available. ooRexx is an open-source Object Rexx implementation.
The 64-bit rewrite of the code is in progress, with many improvements and a reduction in code size being reported. Planned are a new C++ interface for external function libraries, support for Classic Rexx external function libraries, a new EXTERNAL keyword added to the ::ROUTINE directive, plus more.

It has been announced that two REXX sessions are scheduled for Warpstock
2005, to be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, from October 6 to October 9, 2005.
Chip Davis will be discussing the "parse", "signal on" and "call on" fuctions,
while Edgar Scrutton will be discussing the use of Mesa2 with REXX scripts.
