2007 Obfuscated Erlang Competition Announced

The 2007 Obfuscated Erlang Competition has been announced. "The goal is to write the most obfuscated Erlang program, providing a safe forum for poor coding practices and programming styles. Through this competition, we hope to illustrate some of the subtleties of Erlang and how they can best be used and abused."

Submissions are due on November 2, 2007, with the winners announced and prizes awarded on November 8, 2007 at the Erlang User Conference.

2007 Smalltalk Coding Contest Announced

The 2007 Smalltalk Coding Contest has been announced. The competition finale will be held at the Smalltalk Solutions Conference on April 29, 2007, in Toronto, Canada.

Contest registration is open until April 13. The first phase runs from April 13 to 22, with the winners of the first phase being announced on April 25.

It has been announced that "The First 10 Prolog Programming Contests", by Bart Demoen, Phuong-Lan Nguyen, Tom Schrijvers, and Remko Tronçon, is now available for download.

It includes the questions from the first ten Prolog programming contests, along with answers.

An update regarding the International Eiffel Programming Contest 2005 is now available.

The submission deadline has passed, with 10 entries being received from eight authors. The final results are expected to be available in January, 2006.

11th Prolog Programming Contest Results Available

The results of the 11th Prolog Programming Contest, held during ICLP2005 and CP2005, are now available. The winning team at the conference consisted of Peter Szabo, Peter Szeredi and Mats Carlsson. Bernhard Pfahringer won the online version of the contest. The questions and test files are also available.

11th Prolog Programming Contest Reminder

A reminder has been put out that the 11th Prolog Programming Contest will be taking place on October 2, 2005, in Sitges, Spain. An online contest will be held concurrently, with 24 hours to send in solutions.

The contest organizers have also written a book entitled "The First 10 Prolog Programming Contests." It contains the questions from the first ten Prolog Programming Contests, as well as an answer in Prolog for each.

The winners of the Eighth Annual ICFP Programming Contest have been announced. The first and third prize entries were written in Haskell, with the second place entry being written in Dylan.
